We sometimes call her Wini Bean or Wini Bear. Adelaide has fun with that. Adelaide has been doing some things lately that make my heart melt. She is a really good person. It is such a wonderful feeling when you realize that the little person you are raising is a genuinely nice individual with good intentions. She is kind and loving and smart and funny. Winifred was staring at Adelaide this morning and I could tell that Wini already loves her big sister.
Last Tuesday was Adelaide's school Christmas program. We picked the girls up and went to a sandwich shop for dinner and then went to the venue to get a good seat. Luckily some friends were already saving us seats. The stage was already set and the 2 year olds were having a blast running back and forth across the stage. Eventually the program started and the 2 year old classes merged on stage to sing "Santa Claus is Coming to Town." If you watched Adelaide you could tell that they had been practicing singing the song and dancing to a routine. She was wonderful. But if you watched the kids next to her, well, they were having much more fun playing behind the stage curtains. It was adorable and fun and hilarious. Adelaide kept doing the routine while the other kids were playing in the curtains (we all prayed the curtains were secured well - they were). She stopped a few times to watch the other kids running around, and then would go back to dancing the routine. The other parents were impressed with her. We have video, but our current internet connection has trouble uploading videos, sorry.
We're staying home this holiday and Ian's parents are visiting. I'm really excited about having Adelaide walk downstairs Christmas morning. As Adelaide would say, "It's gonna be excited!"
